Yin Yoga
This is a slow, floor-based Yin Yoga class. We’ll stay close to the ground, holding each posture for a few minutes at a time to give the body space to soften and release.
Yin Yoga is about letting the body open in its own time, and staying present with whatever comes up in the process. It helps me slow down enough to feel what’s really going on beneath the surface, and to meet it with softness instead of force.
This practice can feel quiet on the outside, but there’s often a lot happening underneath! It’s a chance to feel without fixing. To listen to the places that don’t always get attention.
It’s up to you to modulate the intensity of the poses, and it’s an important practice to intuitively feel where to lean in and where to pull back. Always check in with your body and be open to experiencing all kinds of sensations, physical as well as emotional.
How to Prepare
You’ll need a mat or soft surface
Have a cushion, bolster, or rolled-up blanket for support
Wear something warm and comfortable
Try to stay in the stillness, but adjust if something feels painful or sharp
If your mind gets busy or you feel restless, that’s normal, just come back to your breath
Please take a moment to journal about your experience in your retreat guide afterwards.
